Located at Whitefish Point in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum offers a poignant look into the maritime history of Lake Superior. The museum features exhibits on notable shipwrecks, including the SS Edmund Fitzgerald, whose recovered bell serves as a memorial to its lost crew. Visitors can explore the restored 1861 lighthouse, the Lightkeeper’s Quarters, and the 1923 Surfboat House. Open daily from May 1 to October 31, the museum provides insights into the perils faced by sailors on the treacherous "Shipwreck Coast."
