Maquoketa Caves State Park in eastern Iowa boasts more caves than any other state park in the state, featuring 13 caves interconnected by a six-mile trail system. Highlights include the expansive 1,100-foot Dancehall Cave, the 50-foot Natural Bridge over Raccoon Creek, and the 17-ton Balanced Rock. Visitors can explore various cave types, from walkable passages to crawl-in spots, with a required White Nose Syndrome awareness program to protect resident bats.
