Navajo Bridge

Navajo Bridge

🧠 Fact: Built in 1929, it was the only crossing of the Colorado River for 600 miles.
💡 Tip: Walk the pedestrian bridge for views of the river 467 feet below.

Info: Navajo Bridge, located in Marble Canyon, Arizona, comprises two steel arch bridges spanning the Colorado River. The original bridge, completed in 1929, was the highest steel arch bridge globally at the time, standing 467 feet above the river. It served as the sole crossing for 600 miles, significantly improving transportation between Arizona and Utah. Due to increasing traffic and vehicle sizes, a new, wider bridge was constructed nearby and opened in 1995. The historic bridge now serves pedestrians, offering scenic views and opportunities to spot California condors.
