Located in Duluth, Minnesota, the Great Lakes Aquarium is a unique freshwater-focused facility that opened in 2000. Spanning 62,000 square feet, it houses over 1,500 animals across 250 species, including fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. The aquarium showcases habitats from the Great Lakes Basin and other ecosystems like the Amazon River and Pacific reefs.
